Danica Liongson is a designer, researcher, and educator based in Indianapolis, IN. Her design work and research examine interconnected ecological and social systems in the public realm. As a professional in the built environment, Danica is committed to designing, implementing, and advocating for more vibrant, equitable, and shared spaces in our cities.

Danica’s approach to landscape architecture and urban design lives at the intersection of practice, teaching, and service. She is a landscape designer at Merritt Chase, the Co-Vice President on the executive committee board of INASLA, and formerly an adjunct faculty member at Boston Architectural College. She is also a frequent guest critic and lecturer at universities across the country.

Danica holds a Master’s in Landscape Architecture with Distinction and a Master’s in Design Studies from Harvard University Graduate School of Design. As a graduate student, she was awarded the Peter Walker & Partners Fellowship for Landscape Architecture and the Penny White Project Fund. Danica also holds a Bachelor’s in Landscape Architecture from the University of California, Davis, where her work was recognized with an ASLA Certificate of Honor.

Outside of work, Danica enjoys sketching outdoors, running on the Monon Trail, and browsing Indy’s indie bookstores for her next book to read.
